Ghanaian artiste, Shatta Wale has stated that his colleagues in Ghana are suffering because they’ve not taken the business aspect of music serious.

He believes that Ghana’s music right has been sold to Nigeria leading to the many challenges the industry faces now.

According to him, God is punishing Ghanaians by ensuring that Nigerian artistes dominate the music scene in Africa.

We’ve sold our music right to Nigerians….Now God wants to teach us a lesson….The gift that I gave you people that you didn’t cherish, I will show you which people can use it and cherish it better’, he said in an interview on Metro TV.

Shatta Wale believes that the likes of Wizkid and Davido are not better than Ghanaian artistes but they understand how to make money from their talent.

‘That is why we are seeing the Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, doing stuff and we seeing like they are so super. But they are not super. They are taking the thing as business’, he added.

Shatta Wale also lamented that the lack of a business approach to music has resulted in the meagre remuneration Ghanaian artistes receive for performing at shows.
