Today, viral Ghanaian-American star MOLIY released her highly-anticipated debut mixtape, BADDIES ❤️MOLIY (pronounced BADDIES LOVE MOLIY) via gamma. The cross-cultural project is built around themes of empowerment and fearless self-expression. The mixtape is inspired by the energy of parties, raves, and global “baddie” culture, blending Afrobeat, dancehall, and futuristic production to create a soundtrack for women owning their confidence on and off the dancefloor.

The whine-ready mixtape embraces infectious hooks and experimental production for a genre-blurring body of work built for summer club bangers. The project features international heavyweights including South African popstar Tyla, Dominican musician and reality star Yailin la Más Viral, Dancehall titan Skillibeng, Jamaican star Shenseea, producer-DJ Silent Addy, French-Congolese singer Theodora, Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, UK rapper Br3nya, emerging Nigerian Afrobeats artist Mavo, Berlin/London producer collective bees & honey, and MOLIY’s sister and rising star, Mellissa.

Released a day earlier than the mixtape, “911 (CALL THE LAW)” is a cinematic, concept-driven track where MOLIY adopts a Y2K American valley accent, spinning a thrilling narrative about chasing an ex. The project offers something new with every track, from electronic production, a driving beat, and sultry vocals in “TOMETO” to the poppy, upbeat synth of “POPSTAR” to the African-influenced sound of “BUKSHOT.” In “ACCRA GIRLS,” MOLIY and fellow Ghanaian artist Sarkodie seamlessly trade verses, with Sarkodie predominantly rapping in Twi.
