Originally from Nigeria and now making waves in Germany, Mr. Chichi is a musical artist who harmoniously blends diverse cultural influences into a tapestry of sounds captivating pop. His journey in the music field began in the late 80s when he joined the Sahara All-Stars Band as the youngest singer, leaving an indelible mark on the dynamic Nigerian pop scene.
With an insatiable thirst for creative exploration, Mr. Chichi embarked on an adventure as a singer and drummer with Femi Anikulapo Kuti’s band, The Positive Force. Together they have undertaken exciting international tours, gracing the stages of festivals from prestigious music and sharing the spotlight with icons such as Miriam Makeba, Jimmy Cliff, and Lucky Dube.
In the mid-90s, Mr. Chichi’s quest for sonic liberation led him to chart a path daring by forming the revolutionary group Mr. Chichi & the Jah Guides Band. This innovative collective defied boundaries, uniting musicians of different races and nationalities, creating a symphony of harmonious unity through reggae rhythms. Today, as a solo artist, Mr. Chichi embarks on a new chapter in his odyssey musical, fearlessly developing his songs as a writer, composer, arranger, creator of rhythms, and singer. It embraces the rhythmic pulse of Afro-inspired melodies and takes the listeners on an unforgettable musical journey.
