A high-stakes poker game, ancient battlefields, frozen kingdoms and futuristic cities provide the setting for Qymira’s “Labyrinth Of Life,” a cinematic music video that takes the song’s themes of identity, destiny and transformation into an expansive visual adventure. Directed by filmmaker Pedring Lopez and released through Qiia Media, the production offers a glimpse into the creative world of the Hong Kong-born, San Francisco-raised multimedia artist as she prepares for her next major film role in the international action thriller LOTUS.
The video opens with Qymira commanding attention at an exclusive poker game, dressed in an elegant crimson gown. As reality begins to shift, she finds herself moving through different worlds and periods of history. From dense jungles and ancient Egyptian battlefields to frozen kingdoms preparing for war and neon-lit cyberpunk cities, each setting presents another version of her journey. Moving between the roles of warrior, leader, survivor and dreamer, Qymira brings the song’s central idea to life: the choices we make shape the paths we follow.
Written by Qymira, “Labyrinth Of Life” explores personal awakening and the struggle to break free from societal illusions. Its lyrics examine the experience of living behind false appearances and searching for truth, clarity and a stronger sense of self. The track also features rapper ItzDvn and producer Eddie Craig, one half of electronic dance duo The Wideboys, whose production credits include work with Kylie Minogue, Rihanna, Girls Aloud and the Pussycat Dolls. The song combines Qymira’s commanding vocals and melodic approach with high-energy electronic production, while a live orchestral score composed and conducted by Qymira herself adds another dimension to the arrangement. Members of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra performed on the recording.
The music video also arrives at an important point in Qymira’s film career. Following her acting debut and film score composition for Shadow Transit, she is preparing to take the lead in LOTUS, her second starring feature film. Directed by Pedring Lopez, the international female-led action thriller is produced by Hong Kong-based ACT3 and Blackops Studios Asia. Filming spans the Philippines and Brazil, with an international cast that includes Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding Jr., Luke Ford, Cristian Lavin and Alberto Cowboy.
The collaboration reunites Qymira with Lopez, who also directed “Labyrinth Of Life.” Speaking about the video, Qymira explains: “Labyrinth Of Life is about the invisible paths that shape who we become. Every scene represents a different possibility, a different version of ourselves. I’ve always wanted my music to feel cinematic, and this video captures that dream perfectly. It also reflects where I am creatively today as my worlds of music and film continue to merge.”
On working with Lopez again, she adds: “Working with Pedring again has been an incredible creative experience. We understand each other’s visual language, and together we’ve created something that feels timeless, emotional and larger than life. As I prepare for LOTUS, this feels like the perfect bridge between my musical journey and everything that’s coming next.”
Lopez also recognises the storytelling qualities she brings to the project, saying: “Qymira has a rare ability to tell stories without saying a word. Every frame of Labyrinth Of Life was designed to immerse audiences inside her imagination. That same emotional intensity is what makes her such a compelling lead in LOTUS.”
For Qymira, music and film are closely connected parts of a wider creative identity. Her work spans contemporary pop, orchestral composition, visual storytelling, fashion and acting, with recurring themes of transformation, duality and identity running through each area. Her classical training in piano, violin and singing began at a young age, and during her teens she became first violinist in the UK National String Academy.
She later developed her orchestral work through performances and recordings with musicians from the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, including through the Qymira Symphony Orchestra.
Her musical career gained international attention with her debut single “Satisfied,” which reached No. 1 on the UK Music Week Breakers Chart. Subsequent releases, including “Boom Bang Bang,” helped establish her audience across the UK and Europe. More recently, “Wait For No One” reached No. 10 on the UK Dance Chart and No. 78 on the German Pop 200 Chart, while “Give It To Me,” featuring Kris Lawrence and Brazilian rapper Duendy Primeiro, reached No. 5 on the UK Dance Chart. Her Brazilian collaborations have also brought further success, with “Perdão” and “Sun & Sea,” both featuring Duendy Primeiro, and “Vem Comigo,” featuring Kaos, reaching No. 1 on the Bahia radio chart.
Her connection with Brazil continued through performances at Salvador Carnival and collaborations with local artists. During recent visits, she also worked with Buja Ferreira of the renowned percussion group Timbalada on a Portuguese-language single launched at Casa Ronaldo during the World Cup. Alongside these projects, Qymira completed major UK touring dates in 2025 and 2026, opening for Boyzlife and Collabro on The Harmony Tour. Her performances included London’s Cadogan Hall and Edinburgh’s St Giles’ Cathedral.
Beyond music and film, Qymira remains committed to her humanitarian work through the One Gaia Foundation, which supports children through music, arts and sports education. Its work began in the Philippines and has included support for the Aetas community in Bataan, school rebuilding and educational resources following Typhoon Odette, assistance for children with cancer in Cebu, and initiatives for homeless children and people with disabilities. The foundation is now developing initiatives across Hong Kong, the Philippines and Brazil, with plans to expand into India and Africa. Its flagship One Gaia Stage Quest, now in its fourth season, provides young singers and dancers with opportunities to develop their talents under the guidance of experienced professionals.
With “Labyrinth Of Life,” Qymira brings together her musical, orchestral and cinematic interests in a project that reflects the direction of her evolving career. As she prepares for LOTUS, the video offers a striking introduction to an artist whose storytelling continues to move between sound, screen and performance.
