YAO OLAGBEDJI, the multi-talented artist hailing from Togo, introduces us to his groundbreaking third album, “Afrocosmos Revolution.” A passionate advocate for independence and a purveyor of unique sounds with profound historical, social, and political messages.
YAO OLAGBEDJI’s artistic journey is one deeply rooted in a commitment to delivering a powerful message through his music. His desire for independence and creative freedom led him to establish the independent label African Syndicate Band in partnership with his friend Marc Zida in 2022. This bold move aimed not only to propel the “Afrocosmos Revolution” album but also to create a platform for emerging artists from the African underground and the diaspora.
Recorded live in Togo, this LP is a fusion of diverse influences, seamlessly blending Reggae, Afrobeat, Jazz, Afrocuban, Rock, Blues, and traditional voodoo music. The result is a rich and textured musical landscape that defies categorization.
