Nestled on a wash with Route 66 in the backdrop, Tin Can Music Studio serves as the creative sanctuary for Timothy W Webb, also known as “Spider.” In this isolated “woodshed” in the northwest corner of Arizona, Timothy crafts original songs that seamlessly blend the organic with the technological.
Primarily recognized as a live-gig drummer, Timothy Webb’s musical prowess extends far beyond percussion. His vintage steel drum and acoustic guitar skills add unique dimensions to his sonic palette. However, it’s the piano that becomes the vessel for crafting new tunes and revamping old ones, igniting his soul and passion for music.
Timothy Webb’s musical journey includes the creation of the 2021 Holiday album “Chime for Holidays,” the 2022 16-track album “66 Ways to Roadtrip,” and the 2023 “Blues Cruise 66” album featuring twelve Bluesy pieces of art. Collaborations with fellow Blues, Reggae, and R&B musicians in 2023 received acclaim, showcasing his versatility and collaborative spirit.
With a background as a tuba major studying music theory in college, Timothy’s artistic calling came when he delved into electronic music composition and recording. Tin Can Music Studio is the culmination of his life as a musician, drawing inspiration from his experiences on the road, in the studio, in live venues, and on tours abroad.
The challenges of the pandemic presented new creative opportunities, prompting Timothy to “march to the beat of a different drummer.” In 2022, he achieved recognition as an award-winning filmmaker with his documentaries “Historic Railroad Town” and “Hippy Dippy Airstream.”
“Blues Cruise 66” features exciting collaborations with former bandmates, including Sax Gordon and Billy Seward, along with a vintage bootleg track from Timothy’s Blues band in the ’80s. The album showcases his versatility across genres, from Blues to Reggae and beyond.
Timothy Webb’s latest single release, “It’s You, My Heart,” blends World, Rock, Blues, and Reggae into a captivating musical journey. As listeners embark on this sonic adventure, Timothy hints at an upcoming ‘Island’ album or EP in 2024, promising more musical exploration and innovation.
